Ikea is probably one of the best known global brands. Thank god they finally built one in my neck of the woods.
Their top notch design, no nonsense approach is at the heart of their success. It’s hard to walk through, what seems like miles of aisles, and leave empty handed.

What’s the best way to avoid paying $8 bucks a beer at a concert? Simply bring it along in your fake Beerbelly. What a concept. Its surprising that no one else thought of it before. What to do if you already have a beer belly? No worries, you just gained another 20 pounds overnight. I mean, who’s going to notice anyhow?
Don’t worry girls – they have a product just for you. It’s called the Winerack and it’s just like you guessed it. A bra that you fill up with – what else – wine!

Imaging cruising the outback in this killer all terrain camper custom built by Unicat. It’s not really a garbage truck but it sure does resemble one. The windows are only visible when the camper is parked. Once parked the roof raises to reveal windows and to give the much needed headroom for the kitchen and loft bedroom. This is also a built in security feature. More photos are available here.

If you have an iPhone, iPod, PDA and are tired of the wire clutter, the Multipot is for you. Italian designers Dante Donegani and Giovanni Lauda have come up with an ingenious method for hiding those unsightly wires. The top lifts from the base and the cords are plugged in underneath. When you place the top back on the base, the cord is fed through a small hole on the top. Your rechargeable device plugs in and lays on top. In addition to being functional, it’s also a super stylish light. Well done.
*Note: Also come in a 110v US version.

Here’s a funny gift that says “Hey, I know you travel quite a bit and are tired of other people grabbing your luggage.” Nice gift and it’s only $10 bucks.
Identify your luggage from afar with these vivid luggage tags. Featuring refreshing colors, fluorescent plastic zip ties, name and address fields and messages like “careful: my shoes are inside,” these disposable tags are just the cure for jetlag and frequently confused luggage. Sold as a set of six.
The Make: Magazine blog has a nifty little gift idea posted over on their blog. Just think how excited grandpa will be as he hides his glock 9mm in “War and Peace.” I can almost see that big ‘ol smile right now.
Ever since I was a kid I loved anything with a secret compartment. Just remember how effective the secret compartment book worked out in the “The Shawshank Redemption.”

I’m not talking about the counterfeit watches you can buy in the middle of Times Square in NYC. These are authentic fake watches. Sweet idea. More of a bracelet than a watch but still very clever.
realfakewatches are wristwatches that only work for one minute every day (well, two for analog ones). they are being made by linda kostowski and invited other designers.
the watches are laser cut from three pieces of genuine leather and manually assembled. they are fastened with velcro. each one comes with both a unique time (hand-picked by our randomizer robot) and a thinglink engraved on the back.
I stopped wearing a watch a couple of years ago. I’ve never missed it. I think at this point it would seem weird if I started wearing one again. If I want to know the time, I just check my mobile phone.
