I have a running obsession with vinyl toys. Kidrobot is the best site hands down when it comes to vinyl. (According to me of course) In my office, I have a ton of these silly, goofy, creepy, toys. Why? Good question. I ask myself that quite often.

The other day the CFO, from my company, came into my office and asked “What’s the significance of all those toys”. I didn’t have an answer at first. Then it dawned on me. I asked Phil, the CFO, why he collected baseball cards. I guess the answer is the same – because we like them. He asked me if I had the original boxes. The funny thing is I do. He commented that they would be worth more if I kept the boxes.

So yeah, the toys collect a ton of dust. It’s really a pain to dust around them. But I like ‘em. The good news is I don’t have much room for them so I haven’t purchased any in awhile.

Except for now. I gotta have the the drunk frog in a bear suit – It’s a classic!

I’m sure you can remember back at some point in your life either seeing or writing a message on a dirty car window. Maybe something incredibly witty like “WASH ME” or “HONK AT ME”. Of course some others out there may recall something a bit more dirty but let’s save that thought for now.

This is a great classic commercial. I’m not sure what era it’s from though.

When I was in San Francisco a couple weeks ago, a colleague urged me to stop in the Buena Vista for a world famous Irish Coffee. We went in, sat at the bar and ordered two Irish Coffees. They were fantastic! Of course we had to order two more. Sitting at the bar I felt as though I had entered a time machine. The bartender was wearing a white jacket and tie. He was not only a master pourer when it came to Irish Coffees but he was also a comedian and magician. It’s one of those places you hit as a tourist and five years later remember the Irish Coffee as your longest lasting memory.

Below is my mash-up of an excerpt from the famous Martin Luther King Drum Major Instinct speech delivered at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Atlanta, Georgia, on 4 February 1968 that I created in Soundtrack.

Does Starbucks corporate have a kitchen where employees deposit their lunches inside the community refrigerator? Do they have the regular coffee office brew stations with Starbucks coffee? Or, do they have a Starbucks store inside corporate headquarters. If they have a corporate store… is the coffee FREE? I mean do employees pay for coffee at the corporate headquarters? If they get the coffee FREE, how many cups are they rationed to per day?

In Cuba, its well known in most cigar factories employees can smoke as many cigars as they wish during the course of a day. They are also allowed to take home three cigars per day. So we know that nicotine is an addictive substance. Consequently, the employees who smoke are hooked. Not a bad thing, just an observation.

If coffee contains caffeine, another addictive substance, how many Starbucks employees drink the coffee? I once worked for a General Motors subsidiary at the Tech Center in Detroit. One of the persons in my department drove a Honda. She was not looked upon very favorably for obvious reasons. This brings me to my next question. What if some of the Starbucks corporate employees do not drink the coffee. Better yet, what if there’s a rebel running around Starbucks corporate drinking Dunkin Donuts coffee? That can’t be good. Or does that person disguise the fact by drinking from a thermos?

Here’s a look at what would happen if Microsoft designed… or should I say re-designed the box for the ipod. It’s as predictable as you would expect but funny none the less.
